John (“Jack”) Cooney began a solo law practice in north Spokane in 1949. In the 1980s, his sons, John C. Cooney (retired) and James L. Cooney, continued the practice focusing primarily on criminal defense and personal injury law. Now in its third generation of leadership, Cooney Law Offices continues a long history of advocating for clients in the areas where they need us most.

Longtime Spokane residents may know us from our prior location in the Garland Business District, where we worked with clients for decades. In 2016, we relocated to our current address at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Washington Street.
